How do I configure Windows95 to connect with Romanweb?
Just read our step-by-step instructions on configuring Windows95.

Is my system configured for optimum performance?
You could be doing some unnecessary conversions while you're online which could be sloowing you down. Take a look at our Optimizing your connection FAQ to make sure you're system is configured properly.

Why does it take so long to verify my usename and password whenever I logon to Romanweb?
There are a couple of easy steps you can take to ensure that you're not doing any unnecessary conversions when you logon to Romanweb. Check out our Optimizing your connection FAQ.

How do I save my password?
Saving your login password in Windows95 can be more difficult than you would expect. Windows95 will only save your password if you are logged on to Windows itself with a username and password. In order to log onto Windows95, you need to have the "Client for Microsoft Networks" installed in your Network Control Panel. See our Saving your Password FAQ for step by step instructions on how to add the "Client for Microsoft Networks".

What is Service Pack #1 for Windows95 and do I need it?
Microsoft's Service Pack #1 makes some important fixes to the Windows95 Operating System. To see if you have Service Pack #1 installed, right-click on the "My Computer" icon and left-click on "Properties". Under the "General" tab, check to see which version of Windows95 you're running. If there is a letter after 4.00.950, then you already have the latest updates. So if it says 4.00.950a or 4.00.950b, then your machine is up-to-date.  There is no upgrade from version "a" to version "b", they are completely separate versions of Windows95.  Do not load version "b" files onto a current installation of version "a".

If your version number is simply 4.00.950, with no letter following the numbers, then you need to download and install Service Pack #1.
