| First, please take a moment to review our Romanweb Networks Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) regarding
email. What email software
can I use with my Romanweb Account?
You can use any POP compliant software that you would like with your Romanweb Email
account (most email software available is POP compliant). We recommend either Netscape or
Eudora.
I have more than one email box, how do I
configure Netscape for more than one account?
Netscape 3.x does not support this feature. The only way to use Netscape 3.x mail with
more than one account is to either manually change settings each time you want to switch
mailboxes or install two completely separate instances of Netscape (we don't recommend
this). Netscape Communicator 4.x, however, will allow multiple users to share a single
copy of the program. Look in the Netscape Communicator directory in the
"Utilities" folder for the "User Profile Manager" to configure
multiple users.
If you do not wish to upgrade to Communicator, you
could try using a separate mail program for each mailbox. For instance, use Netscape mail
for one and Eudora for the other.
Can I use Eudora for all of my mailboxes?
Yes. Eudora Pro supports multiple "Personalities" within a single copy of the
program. This is ideal for one person who has several email accounts. However, it isn't
very useful when you have more than one person and each person wants to keep his/her mail
separate from everyone else's. Fortunately, both Eudora Light and Eudora Pro support
directory switching. This means that multiple users can share a single copy of Eudora and
still keep their own personal settings.
How do I setup my email software to access
my Romanweb Account?
Make sure you have a copy of your Romanweb Account Configuration sheet.
It contains all of the information you'll need to configure your email software:
- Email username
- Email password
- Incoming (POP) mail server
- Outgoing (SMTP) mail server
In most cases, your email username and email password
will be the same as your login username and login password. However, it is important to
differentiate between the two, since you can have multiple email addresses with only one
login username and password.
